Clinical Supervision Approach
Both in-person and virtual supervision meetings are available, allowing the ability for clinicians throughout the state of Virginia to receive support.
I utilize a person-centered approach, meeting the resident where they are in the process of clinical growth and determining goals together in a strength-based approach. I help assist in completing a successful residency and function with minimal oversight as an independent clinician post-residency.
Supervision is provided one hour weekly, and a drop-in supervision group is offered every other week. While the primary objective is to discuss client cases utilizing modern therapeutic approaches, I also provide education on diversifying caseloads and working with different populations, continunity of care, burnout and self-care, and marketing strategies for clinicians. I also provide periodic updates from the Department of Health Professions to ensure State and Board Compliance, share both clinical and employment resources, and provide support and training on the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Exam (NCMHCE) required to meet licensure requirements.
** Group Supervision is free for post-residents as a resource once licensed to utilize as needed.
